Helping children overcome learning challenges with clarity and confidence

Specialised assessments and guidance for parents who want real answers and practical support.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Parent Consultation

The Parent Consultation is the first step in the NeuroLearn process. In this session, Dr Stefnie meets with the parent or guardian without the child present to build a full understanding of the child’s history, development, school experience, behaviour, health, and current challenges. This includes developmental milestones, medical history, school performance, teacher feedback, previous assessments, behaviour at home and in social settings, diet, sleep, gut health, trauma history, and the parent’s own observations and concerns. This consultation forms the foundation of the process and helps determine the most relevant assessment path for the child.

2. Learner Assessment

The Learner Assessment is the core of the NeuroLearn process. Dr Stefnie conducts a comprehensive, holistic assessment of the child, looking at the factors affecting how they learn, behave, and function. This may include attention, concentration, impulse control, executive functioning, processing speed, working memory, reading, writing, mathematics, sensory processing, emotional regulation, behaviour patterns, and the gut-brain connection. The assessment is designed to identify the child’s strengths, challenges, and support needs, and forms the basis of the written report and recommendations. Depending on the child’s needs, this may include an ADHD & Focus Assessment, School Readiness Assessment, Early Childhood Assessment, or Full Neurodevelopmental Assessment.

3. Report Discussion

The Report Discussion is the final step in the process. Once the written report has been completed, Dr Stefnie meets with the parents to explain the findings clearly and practically. In this session, parents receive the report, gain a clear understanding of the child’s profile, discuss the recommendations for home and school, and understand what further support or referrals may be needed. This session provides clarity, direction, and a practical roadmap for the next steps in supporting the child.
